G3, Unitor 8 & CBX D5

2000-03-13 by Zygosin Productions

HiŠ my names William Menz, I haven't used the L-OT list before, but
I'm hoping someone out there can help solve this problem.

Current System: G3, 233mhz desktop, 128mb ram, 4gig int.HD, Unitor 8 >
AMT8, CBX D5 (x2),
4gig ext.HD.

Recently I changed the system I was using by adding an Emagic Unitor 8
& AMT 8, to give me more midi capabilaties. I was originally using a
Mark of the Unicorn Midi Express (4 in, 6 out) along with a Roland A880
Midi Patch bay (8 in, 8 out) connected to the Midi Express. Having
changed this I found that the CBX D5 wouldn't work off the midi from the
Unitor 8. Before I'd taken the signal via a serial cable from the
printer port to the first CBX & midied that to the second. Now it
wouldn't work with midi through the Unitor 8, only that original
configuration through the printer port, (I was hoping to plug in my
printer). Anyway the big problem now is that the midi (Unitor 8, AMT8)
won't work if the CBX is working & visa versa. This isn't very practical
when trying to work.
Has anyone had any experience with this combination or a similiar one
that could suggest any thing? I feel it's something to do with the CBX
mixer environment in Logic, or perhaps the software for the Unitor 8.
Which or whatever I haven't been able to isolate it yet.

    WAM
