Question for L.S. or M.H.

1999-09-13 by Larry Lundgren

Just a question for Len or Michael.

I'm using a Spirit 328 console by Soundcraft and the desk is having a
horrible time with its Dynamic Automation(fader control via midi). There

are no problems recording the data to Logic, but on playback the faders
spasticly(sp) jump all around. Soundcraft's statement to this problem is

:

"With regards the dynamic automation, Logic 3.x had difficulties in
handling
the NRPN data which the 328 uses for automation, which caused jerky
faders.
In Logic 4 this has been improved but is still not working as well as
other
sequencer packages. We are currently working very closely with Emagic
to
ensure that by the next release of Logic the problem is resolved."

What is NRPN? And is there a work around that I might be able to get
automation working?

TIA,

Larry
