Computer Build Problem

Hello!! I recently upgraded my p.c. for a better recording system. I decided to take the parts from my old p.c. and build an internet p.c. When I constructed my p.c. (this is the first time I have done this) I get this error when I try to boot up the p.c. "System Hardware Abnormal Press Any Key To Continue". Does anybody know what this means? This happens as soon as I turn the p.c. on, before Windows loads. If I press any key to continue, I get a blue screen saying that it stopped Windows from loading to prevent damage....
The Motherboard is a MSI 6163 with a P 3 450, 192mb ram. I got a used cd rom, floppy drive for it. A friend also gave me a 9 gig Western Digital 5200 Cavair drive. As far as I know I have everything hooked up correctly and I don't know where to start. Can anyone offer me any advice? Thnaks!!
