OT Mastering for TV

OT Mastering for TV

2002-01-07 by Dave Abbott

Hi All

I'm sure many of you have had experience in this so I would value some
advice. I am doing a little song for TV here in South Africa, its a parody
song so vocal claity is paramount (based on that old song "Red Rubber Ball")
.I've done a song before for the same programme and it came across OK but I
have the feeling that I may have been able to do better,it seemed to lack
"punch". I'm sure that it's the mastering part that needs brushing up, I'm
OK on normal CD's but this is different. I'm on Logic Gold for windows with
an Audiowerk8 through a Mackie CR1604 onto a 2nd machine with Soudforge 5
and a Terratec 24/96 and the usual array of plugins. How can I get the best
for TV, I know this is a "how long is a piece of string" question but I'll
ask anyway.

Cheers

Hello,
I just come back from South Africa, 5000Km from Capetown to Joburg, what a beautiful country...
for your question, I'm pretty sure that you should try to use Waveburner from Emagic to punch your mix,
It's an easy way to use it and there is a few presets to start to avoid the wrong things to do.
best regards...Phil...Paris
