I thought I'd share all the improvements which have been made in the
past couple of weeks:
New:

Reply-to-unsubscribe: Tired of unsubscribing novice users
from your newsletter? Turn on this optional feature in your
Group Settings (default setting when you create a group is
OFF), and all members who reply to the group will
automatically be unsubscribed. This feature should be used
for announcement groups only.

Text editor for files uploaded to the Files area: Now you
can make changes to text files right at the eGroups site.

Bounce handling: Fully-automated email bounce handling &
account reactivation

Help pages describing the bounce system
Improved:

Faster pages: Smaller page sizes and simpler HTML layout
for faster downloading and rendering of eGroups Web site

Faster email: Doubled outgoing email capacity for faster
performance

Message moderation: Redesign of the Pending Messages
feature for easier moderation of your groups

Group activity feature: For detailed logging of all
subscriptions,
events, and message posts
New: 20 International Sites in 14 Languages
To better serve our multi-lingual and international members,
the eGroups Web site is now available in 14 languages and 20
countries worldwide. In email, eGroups now enables you to
specify the language of automated messages sent to your
group.

New: eGroups-Status Announcement Group
Starting with this issue, eGroups-Moderator-News will only be
used to distribute regular news, notices and important
service
announcements. We will maintain a low-traffic schedule
(1x-3x/month). When you created a group at eGroups (or
ONElist), you were automatically subscribed to this group.
We've started a new group for more frequent announcements.
To stay informed about feature enhancements, bug fixes, and
other issues (e.g. ISP's temporarily halting delivery of
eGroups

eGroups/Yahoo! Integration Update
On June 27, 2000, eGroups signed an agreement with Yahoo! to
become part of the Yahoo! family. The two companies will
continue to operate independently until conditions of the
agreement are met and the merger is completed.

Integration: Our #1 priority is to maintain service
reliability
and quality during this transition. We'll keep you updated
along the way.

Features: Our goal is to preserve the features and options
you currently enjoy at eGroups, and offer you much more
over the coming months. We'll be exploring improvements
and new features as a combined company once the conditions
of the acquisition are finalized.

Content: The folks at Yahoo! have addressed concerns some
of you have raised about content ownership.
