Hi.

Back in December I asked people about microphone recommendations and thought
I might 'report back' . I ended up buying a multipattern RV10 mic from Red 5
Audio at http://www.red5audio.com which so far has worked out well. Extended
use so far only on male vocals on cardioid, with impressive quality, but I
have tried it briefly on drum overheads and even on a passing trumpeter with
reasonable results, though I didn't have much time to give it a proper
workout. You get a reasonable shockmount, windshield and chunky flightcase
thrown in for £150.

Has anybody else tried these mics? There are so many cheaper models out now,
even ignoring the more established Rode and Marshall models, that keeping up
with the marketplace is not easy. Red 5 told me that magazines were more or
less complaining about having to do new mic reviews month in, month out!
