Hi,

I really need some advice for a prospective purchase - the TL Audio 3051,
dual valve parametric EQ. How would anybody rate it?

I need to get a nice clean (ie. as noise free as possible...) from source to
drive. I have compressors I am happy enough with (well..) I will be
recording mostly acoustic, vocal, some drums but I will also be DI'ing
instruments and the like.

Does this unit offer enough flexibility in all or any of these cases and are
there any problems with its use/sound  minor or otherwise?

depends on budget. in this kind of mid range tl gear is ok. 
personally, having owned tl gear, id opt for a more cash intensive 
unit :-)
