OT: RME Hammerfall DSP Cardbus

OT: RME Hammerfall DSP Cardbus

HI all,

need some advice from the Mac users out there, specifically those with a mac
laptop.

A friend of mine is thinking of buying a mac laptop (not sure which yet and
your answers may make the choice abvious...) for use as his main recording
system. He wants to use the Hammerfall DSP with this system. I have had a
quick check on the Apple site and see no sign of a pcmcia port on the models
I checked. Does such a thing exist on Mac laptops??

Sorry if the question sounds dumb but I know very little about laptops and
even less about Macs!

thanks in advance

Hi Mark,

I installed a week ago the Hammerfall DSP Card + Multiface on a friends
Titanium G4/550. Surely it has a PCMCIA port and it worked great.

IMO it worked better than the MOTU Firewire that I also installed on a
iBook. Better latency and better sounding, but that´s my opinion. No flame
wars please.

I would go for the Titanium G4/667 if your friend could afford it.

Cheers Achim
