TonMeister

2002-02-19 by Joeri Vankeirsbilck

Hi,

Does anyone know where in Germany one can study to become Tonmeister? I
mean the original German title, not the School of Audio Engineering
(SAE) title.
Any links or information?

Thanks,
Joeri

In Denmark, a TonMeister (tonemester) is educated at a classical
conservatory.

Best wishes

Hi,

there is a webpage (http://www.tonmeister.de) of the
"Verband Deutscher Tonmeister" where you can find more info.

It's the German term for Audio Engineer. But a good Tonmeister degree is
more than that: it includes being a good musician, being able to conduct
an orchestra etc...
(A litteral translation of the word Tonmeister would be something like
"Master of sound" or so...)

Bye,
