Hi Arvid.

I don't have figures for any other sequencer, but I would suspect that a
figure of this size comes from:
(1) counting all the various versions sold -and there have been a lot of
different flavours of Cakewalk from DOS to the special guitar version -and
(2) the fact that Cakewalk until recently was the most likely sequencer to
be bundled with a home PC package (at least here in the UK), as it seems to
be the only one that many PC dealers have heard of!
(3) of course, it has also been bundled with many PC soundcard packages over
the years too.

This means that not so many people ever thought 'Hey, I must run out and buy
a copy of Cakewalk right now!' In fact there will never be a statistic of
how many copies of Cakewalk never get used at all...
