Ah, you're right Martin, I didn't mean to state/imply it was the exact same card, even though they do look a lot alike and do essentially the same thing, AFAICS.  The card for the O2R/O3D is a CD8-mLAN

 And, the card for the O1v/AW is an MY8-mLAN ("MY" for Mini-YGDAI I presume)

In their descriptions, Yamaha uses the terminology "brings connectivity to products SUCH AS, etc."  And, since there are some keyboard and sound module products that were shipped as "mLAN/Firewire ready," I would imagine one of these cards and/or a software/firmware update is what was NOT "ready."  In the general overview of mLAN, I guess I didn't make a distinction between cards or notice there would be one...
