OK but may I urge you to consider what a fantastic Job that Joeri is

Absolutely agree, Dennis (well, maybe not about the VD thing ;-)). And I
thought my post had made that clear. Joeri helped me out personally way
back when I first made the plunge to Logic, and has given heaven knows how
many hours of his time to both the group overall and probably lots of other

Now let's see if he filters this one as too off-topic... :-)

[L-OT] FM7 - TX802

2002-03-16 by Bob Lowen

Hi all,

I am considering getting an FM7 from Native Instruments. Any comments
on this software would be greatly appreciated.

I have one particular question. How do I get the sounds from my TX
802 into the FM7?

I have sounddiver, but can that help?

Best regards, Bob.

I like the envelopes alot.

If it supports TX802 files, then you eeh.. import ;-)

No, don´t think so. Either you play it standalone, or as VSTi. You
tweak the knobs with mouse or controller. The visuals "GUI" is
allready there, no need for sounddiver.

Thanks for your reply Mikael.

The problem was it didn't. You need to get the update 1.02 from the
website for it to work. Now indeed it works. Version 1.00 apparently
is faulty in that respect.

Well, I did not mean to tweak the instrument, but again, to import
sounds. Seems rather silly that all the information is in the
computer and that in order to get it from SD into the FM7 you would
first have to load the sounds into the TX802 and then import into FM7.

Best regards, Bob.

Mikael,

Just in case you have a similar setup. Sounddiver indeed helps. You
can export libraries in SD as sysex files. These you can then load
into the FM7 with sysex import. So there is no need to go via the
TX802 or a DX7 at all if you already have libraries in SD. Of course
this is only for having sounds at your disposal not for tweaking them.

Cheers, Bob.
