I was also thinking of the Event PS6,

The event PS series are all ok, but 2 things turned me against them. 1. off
axis response changes a lot when you move around or stand up 2. power amps
seem to be a little under powered.

I went through plenty of speakers and sub combinations and settled on the
Yamaha MSP-10 with a Event 20/20/15 15" subwoofer. Loads of power (hardly
ever see the clip lights, even when pumping) and the waveguides round the
tweeters keep the response quite even all along the desk or if I stand up it
all sounds quite the same.

Genelec are used a lot, but mainly the bigger ones with the 8 inch cone,
they are a bit of a standard but are expensive and the components in them
aren't anything special.

The mackies are also quite popular and have just released a smaller version
and a line of sub's that will be well worth looking at.

There is plenty to read out there on the net, but the best thing to do is
get a pro audio supplier to lend you some pairs to try in you own place for
you to decide.
