I don't think Avid, Adobe, discreet, Sonic Solutions and a number of
others
expected Apple to put out Final Cut Pro and their DVD authoring programs
either!  Some of that may have been precipitated by Avid releasing their
top
product, Symphony, for wintel NT only.

So while it seems unlikely, such moves by Apple are not without
precedent.

makes me wonder if apple computers are still "gagged" by that 
old legal ruling brought by apple records (the beatles label, way 
back then..) which forbids them to develop in a music related 
direction - itunes would suggest not, although the apple alert 
sound sosumi (so sue me) tells it's own story..

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
