Apple Xserver rackmount for audio

Apple Xserver rackmount for audio

2002-05-14 by BasharAR

This thing looks so sexy in a 1U rack mount, featuring:
"Four internal bays with independent 100MHz busses for up to 480GB of
internal storage using hot-pluggable Apple Drive Modules"
2 PCI slots and 3 independent firewire
Looks like a great studio device to me!

Certainly does. Lets hope that it is QUIET!

:-)

I wonder if OS9 will work on it?

Only 2 PCI ports is a real bummer, but I suppose one could get an expansion
chassis. Also, from what I have hear, it's 28" deep. YOu better have a really
deep rack if that's the case. WOuld be nice if Logic could someday ustilize
multiple computers and you could ahev a whole rack of these processing audio.
