2* ASIO imho won't work... but I'm not sure.
Check with Matthias Carstens from RME and you'll have the best answer.
(and don't forget to let us know what the answer is! :-)
The www.rme-audio.com website has a link to his forum. He's very active,
so I'm pretty sure he'll either answer it, or the answer will already be
somewhere in the archives of the forum (in which case he most likely
won't answer).

Cheers,
Joeri

Hi, I have a gina card using asio. The 8 analogue outputs I allow Logic to 'grab'. To stop logic grabbing the remaining spdif digital output I set the max o/p streams to 8 in the audio settings. the spdif is then used for other programs. In order to stop these programs grabbing the spdif for themselves only I set the microsoft sound mapper to use the spdif output. The programs are then routed to the sound mapper. This way multiple programs can use the spdif o/p but only one being able to play at any given time.
I hope this helps, Hector.

Indeed, that way you can limit the amount of ASIO streams in use by Logic.

MME driver, I assume.

Yes, I guess it must be. However the 8 analogue o/p's from logic are definitely running in asio mode. I use the sp/dif for apps such as Recycle and Soundforge where asio is not really necessary.

Perhaps you would have to use two separate audio cards to get two asio apps to o/p sound concurrently.

  Hector.

What are the particular apps in question? Is Rewire not an option?

  Hector
