Well him & Mickey Finn are responsible for various signature bass
sounds - any particular one you had in mind? There's loads of snippets
of tracks (old & new, and all terribly grainy/lo-fi/web friendly) at:

I suspect you mean stuff like 'King of the Beats':
http://www.urbantakeover.co.uk/lpost/aph24kingofthebeats.html
'Dub Moods':

and 'Summer Breeze':

etc., non?
Emagic's very own ES1 can be tarted up nicely for D'n'B. If you've got
Logic5, the built in synths can be put to good use. A lot of it's in
the savage use of FX, compression and EQ.
The 'producers' mailing list over at Drum and Bass Arena:
http://www.breakbeat.co.uk/maillist.html
might be able to help too.
Failing all that, for D'n'B generally, an easy option is Sonic
Syndicate's 'Junglist' which, amazingly, does live up to the name
when you check out some (only some) of the presets.
