Re: [OT] Quark 5 in OS X?

Sorry, I can't help ya there...I switched to Adobe InDesign...however, give me more time with InDesign, and we'll see just how good this puppy is. But, with my experience, I would just boot up in OS9, then launch Quark. Asking Quark to run under Classic, is like trying to edit audio using while using the app under classic. Though it should work, and in some case does...things are more promising when using the application that it really was meant for...which at this point is OS9. >> --- In logic-users@y..., Mark Lewno <lewnworx@a...> wrote: >>> The key here is "Quark/Classic". >>> I'd steer clear of classic if at all possible (especially with >>> Quark, it's notoriously flaky under classic, not in and of itself, >>> but what it does to classic). Listen to this guy...Quark can be a bugger. >> Not my experience - I've been using Quark 4.11 in Classic daily >> since the 10.0 release, and it's been rather more stable than >> Quark/OS9. This is possible...since classic was perfected after this version had been around for while. And this is REALLY possible, because Quark has tendency to not get right first time around...and always does this to its user before...Can't go back, once your file is saved as such. But this person may not be aware that quark does provide Save As options that should allow you to save back one or two versions. Might want to check that out. > anyone else having issues with quark 5 in classic? if so, where is the > depository for bug reports? macintouch? No... Just boot off OS9, then it shouldn't be so flakey...if that at all. Peace, Alexis
