Some issues with Norton by others.

--one user mentions--
Norton Internet Security hosed my first try at installing Jaguar.
Norton's finally gotten some (not all) of the products in that suite
working with Jaguar (they say). Norton tech support also told me that I
should not run Norton AntiVirus on the same volume as Virex, and I
should not use the OS 10.2 (UNIX) firewall at the same time as Norton
Personal Firewall. Meanwhile, I've had no problems with Virex; no
problems with Jaguar's built-in firewall. So it's bye-bye Norton. (And
$70 down the toilet.)

Now, ME...I probably would not run both Virex and AntiVirus myself like
this person did, not in OSX. But I have worked with Virex for many,
many years now. When Norton added this AntiVirus, I just never
bothered to use it...I always just install virex and shut Anti Virus
off. But in the past, most of the time you could run both successfully
on your machine.

--yet another user--
It hosed my dual processor board. It corrupts the firmware. Apple
replaced it and now things work again. I will never let that near my
computer again.

Now, could imagine going through this...LOL. Geez. Sorry, just not my
cup o' tea. Since Norton Utilities 3.0 fiasco, it stays off my
personal machine. Don't blow caution into the wind.

Now again, if you notice some funky intermittent or repeatable
problems...then try un-installing Norton and see if your problems go
away.

Peace,
Alexis
