[LAM] iTunes & Logic Conflict?

[LAM] iTunes & Logic Conflict?

2002-12-01 by Eric Lee

I use iTunes a great deal to sort mixes and rehearsals, etc. and I think
iTunes is indispensable. I often have both iTunes and Logic running and have
iTunes use the Mac audio while Logic uses a MOTU 2048mkII.

Lately, iTunes will stop playing in the middle of a tune if Logic is also
running (in background - not doing anything). This doesn't seem to happen if
Logic is not running.

Is there an incompatibility that has crept in lately?

it seems to me that you should turn off the itunes extension. I seem to
remember some kind of conflict with itunes and other audio apps in general
if that was on. You don't lose any functionality, just doesn't show the
"ITUNES" names in the finder... no big deal. I do what you do all the time
and don't have problems (my itunes ext is off)

iTunes stops playing when I check my email in Outlook Express, Or load a
complex web page in Explorer. I think iTunes just plain has problems with
other applications. I am using OS 9.1
