I'm trying to install Classic mode OS9.0

I have OS 9.0 on CDROM. I also have the upgrades to 9.2 on CDROM. I understand from a Panther book I have that 9.1 is the earliest version of the Mac OS that can be installed. So it's not letting me install 9.0 then upgrade to 9.2. Is there any way around this? I can go see a friend and get 9.1 if there is no workaround. Roman Pirie.
