Unknown Problem with Digitech TSR-24

Hey,

I've got a problem that I can't seem to remedy. Does anybody have any idea
what it is and how to remedy it?

I just replaced the 3v Lithium battery and closed the unit back up. I tried
the hard reset, but instead of an asterisk in the top left corner, I get
only an exclamation point. When I press program up anyway, a small
skull-like symbol and a capital "D" appear breifly then the unit gives me
lines like "1 Unknwn Cmd 21 cnt=164 pi=24eb" or "p=3 fi=0 pi=40:24fm"
"pip=d29f" or "Too many zreg changes" or "Too many dram offset lines" or
"Too many dram variables" when I press any button. If I leave the unit alone
for a while, the advertising marquee scrolls across the screen. If I try to
turn that off in the utilities menu, the same error messages occur. What do
I need to do?

Thanks.
