Putting HD into new computer

However, I would like to get more RAM, which means selling my Core Duo machine and getting one of the Core 2 Duo machines that can utilize 4GB. I want to put my current drive into the new machine. If all the hardware is good, and I do the work correctly, can someone advise me about whether my plugs (such as Miroslav Phil, Ivory, BFD2, etc.) will work as normal?
