It is no rumour. They had filed chapter *** (don't know the number) which asked for protection from the banks etc for some months to restructure the organisation. They've been bought by Numark. Good move imo.

Thanx, (and Joeri too. Btw that word was chapter 11, I think, :-)) I saw this also mentioned on the Alesis site this morning. I hadn't seen it on the Alesis site before.
Hmm, and the date says June 22, while it was already anounced at Harmony Central on June 2nd. Strange.

This is not a myth, AFAIK. Yamaha aquired Korg in the 80's just before the devolpment of the Wavestation, if I'm not mistaken. That is, Yamaha owns the majority of stock in Korg. Doesn't mean that Korg has it's own R&D, marketing and distribution.
