The Logic Off Topic list

Hello everyone!! I have been having a problem with a card I have. it just doesn't want to work properly with logic. I have tried everything I know how. As far as I can tell everything is fine on my system. I virtually gave up on it working with Logic until I called the manufacturer of the card on another issue and the tech was telling me how the card runs perfectly with Logic Platinum and there are tons of people who have no problems. He said they even developed the drivers using Logic Platinum (which is what I have). 
  I'm wondering now if changing card slots for the card can make a difference? I know when the card was first put in one slot they had to change it because after a few start-ups my p.c. wouldn't start. After it was moved to a different slot all was well, or so I thought. If this was the problem wouldn't I have similar problems with the software that came with the card? (Which is made by Emagic). Is it just that Logic Platinum is such a beast that it would bring this problem out front? 
  What about video card drivers? How do I go about disabling them and trying the standard Windows video drivers to see if this helps? What about my other sondcard? 
  How hard is it to pull out and put a card in? I've never done it. I would like to know how, but I'm a little nervous about doing it. I don't want to screw anything up. Could anyone be so kind as to give me the proper steps? All the do's and don'ts? I've been trying to resolve this issure for a year now. Since I talked to Alesis yesterday I'm extermely frustrated. 
  I'm running Logic Platinum 4.7.2 on a Pentium 3 450 with 192mb ram, 13gb hard drive, Win 98se, Alesis ADAT PCR card, Sound Blaster compatible sound card. 
  So as I said Alesis says everything runs on their end. I can get the card running fine with the software that came with the card. With Logic, no dice. It seems that somethng is interfering with the card. For instance when I try to do a transfer from or to ADAT after a few seconds it jumps out of record mode.
