Rule 1 ,remove the device in device manager before you pull the card
turn off the machine and mobo [if mobo has seperate power switch].
Rule2 , stick it anywhere it fits in a gentlemanly manner ,no unseemly
grunting or shoving
Rule3 ,be prepared to do the above 2 steps many times until the bastard
works
Rule4 ,before doing any of the above goto
http://www.ozemail.com.au/~oscwilde/
and see if there is any info specific to setting up your card with LADS
[Logic Audio Device Setup] ,have a look in the new user page too .It seems
some cards have their own little likes and dislikes with their setup and
they are not always obvious about it ,lastly think of your card as "She" and
you'll get there eventually .

Hello!! Thanks for your reply!! Is it really this simple? Do I have to
worry about touching anything? Is there anything to stay away from inside
the p.c.? AFAIK the motherboard doesn't have a power switch on it. I would
know if it did right?
I went to Dave Bellingham's site as you suggested and did find some useful
info . I don't know how I missed it there before. So I'm really thinking
that my soundcard doesn't like my video card. So I'm going to go and try a
different slot. If that doesn't work I'm pulling the soundblaster card out
to see if it helps. --Roger
