For the ease of use, I'd get one with onboard JTAG emulator or which
comes with a dongle JTAG emulator (Ashling, IAR).

The first is a specific chip, the second is the chip class.

LPC2000 => ARM7TDMI-S based
LPC3000 => ARM9 based

Other LPCxxx : 8051 based stuff AFAIK.
