Strnge problem with input

2005-11-28 by Ake Hedman, eurosource

Hi,

need someone to discuss this problem with:

I have a board based on a 2138 where I have P0.20 connected as an input
to read a button.

When I was debugging this app. I noticed that I sometimes get false
triggers of the button. I hooked up the scope but it did not check any
activity on the pin.

Deduced that this must be a configuration problem and checked that the
pin was set as an input ( It was ) and that the PINSEL1 had P0.20 as a
GPIO (and it was).

I then just set up a loop that read the pin and write out a '1' or a '0'
on one of the serial channels showing its state and what I see is a
perfect 50% duty cycle waveform is present on the pin. The scope on the
same pin does not show anything.

How can this be possible. Suggestions welcome.

Regards
/Ake
