You might want to check your linker files.  Although I believe it's 
possible to set up gcc to copy string literals to flash I know I've not got 
mine set up to do that.  They stay in flash (I just checked with objdump 
and sure enough they are in the section that does not get copied out of flash)

I suppose you could just try to write to a string literal and see if you 
can change it.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
