Lpc2000

Hi Jan,
  as per ur suggestion i did monitored the content of I2STAT.sometimes it gives nack in response to SLA+R/W or sometimes i do get ack.on getting ack when i x'mit position address the I2STAT simply returns any random value which is not being mentioned anywhere in data sheets.i hope Jan u would give me a solution for this.

so what do you get then? if the slave responds at all, one on them you will get; ack and nack only describe the state of SDA and SCL. try to catch the I2STAT register when interrupt service routine is called.

      Hi!I am interfacing EEPROM with LPC2138 through I2C engine.I do egt 
      acknowledgement for slave address but when I do send address and data
