Apologies if I misunderstood as to which method you said as better.

In addition reasons I gave, I forgot to mention one obvious drawback.

If you have a requirement that you must recover from watchdog reset
without the outside world knowing about this, then the LPC approach
fails where the second method works.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
