Are you able to shed any additional light on this > issue? No, I have no latchup problems, or any particular problem with the board per se. However there is a breadboard area on the card and obviously it would be convinient if circuitry here could be supplied from the 3v3 regulator. At the 9VAC max input and max ouptput of the LM1117 this would be about 6.5W, way over what the regulator could dissipate. My point was simply that with a bit more heatsink it would be better. BTW, removing J1 puts a 5V zener in series, but like I said, if you are putting much stuff on the breadboard a regulated DC supply would be more appropriate than an AC. Indeed I suppose one could argue that if you do want to use the regulator to the max then use a regulated 'black box' rather than a simple transformer ;-)
