The documentation of "ld"
(http://sources.redhat.com/binutils/docs-2.12/ld.info/index.html)
has some info on the syntax and commands of a linker
command file. It isn't exactly good organized or very
clear, but it's a start. I wouldn't expect to easily
find good documentation for gcc/binutils/libc/newlib
if I were you. I believe that someone who is also a
member of this group wrote a book about using these
tools for embedded systems. There are surely more
books on the subject. And there are the best source
for such information. Don't rely solely on the
documentation for the tools, it's very poor.
