A lot of people like Eclipse which has no restrictions. Personally I have not bothered looking at Embest. I know some people like a single IDE but I typically don't. I use gcc, various editors (including source navigator if I want a browser), and various gdb-based editors.Sometimes I will use just a command-line gdb and sometimes insight or ddd. I find I will use a different debugger for different problems. That is probably the main reason I don't like single bundled IDEs. The tools you use are very much a personal choice. There is very seldom something that is truely "best". --- In lpc2000@yahoogroups.com, "valdef78" <valdef@s...> wrote: > > Hello, I'm rather new with ARM7 and I'm reading and learning all I can > before putting my hands on it.. > > I looked at the different pre-compiled versions of GNU tools (for > Windows) and now I'm looking at the Embest IDE demo version, because > there are not much restriction on it (only on debugger tools choice) > and I think it could be a smarter way to begin.. > > so does anyone here already tried it and what are your opinion on it..? > it seems that there are some documentations still in Chinese version.. > > Thanks.. > Fred > > link for demo version : > http://www.embedinfo.com/English/support/downloadcenter.asp#a1
