I have done something like this, but unfortunately can't release it.

This is a pretty straight formward thing to do.
* Establish comms with PC via RS232.
* Accept command to erase
* Accept chunks of data to program. Write with IAP.

It should easily fit within a single sector.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
