GDB can be used to debug a target via a serial link. However, GDB
'stub' code is required running on the target. I've been told that
writing a stub is non-trivial. I'm trying to get a JTAG Wiggler
interface working on my prototype. I can then use the debugger
provided with the RAL tools.
