Re: lpc2138 flash programming

2005-05-19 by Thiadmer Riemersma (ITB CompuPhase)

The reasons that the lpc21isp utility fails to upload programs onto
the LPC2138 are:
- the maximum size that can be copied from SRAM to Flash ROM in a
single command is 4096, not 8192;
- the first eight sectors and the last 5 sectors of the LPC2138 are 4
kiB in size, the other sectors are 32 kiB.

Even the beta version of the lpc21isp version that you tried only
supports 8 kiB sectors. I have fixed the utility (for my own use) and
sent it to Martin Maurer (by e-mail), but he has not responed yet.
Therefore, to help you out, I have uploaded my version of the utility
to the file section of this forum (in the subdirectory "TOOLS").

As a side note, I have not yet made programs larger than 32 kiB, so I
have not tested the switch from small to large segments either.

I hope this is useful to you and to others.

Kind regards,
Thiadmer Riemersma
