Hello, I have been using 8-bit AVR MCU's so far (ATMega8) for relatively small projects. Right now I need to convert a PC application running under DOS to an embedded platform. The LPC2xxx series is one of the possible targets I will be using. I would prefer a single chip solution without external memory interface. I am wondering how memory hungry 32-bit C compilers (GNU, Imagecraft ICCARM) are? Has anyone had any experience porting an application from an 8-bit to a 32-bit platform? What were the ratio's of RAM and FLASH usage? I have been told before by several people that 32K RAM memory on a 32-bit platform is not much and to be considered a minimum. I will be using no OS or perhaps a small RTOS (FreeRTOS, Nut OS) which will not need a lot of memory. Kind regards, Rudy Modeltech - Belgium [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
