I just got my Olimex 2294-board from Sparkfun. Are you supposed to solder on a power jack yourself? If not, mine's missing and there is three holes in the board. Also, next to the place where the power jack is supposed to be there's a D5 missing. Is that also something you have to supply yourself? Best Regards David Berg

Hi, Hum... very strange. I got a E2294 and a H2294 and the power jack is present in both. Regards Paulo

Sounds like they forgot to put them on, although it's difficult to see how the board was tested without them. Perhaps they don't test them! Leon

And the test program that comes loaded in flash shows up ok so I hope there's nothing wrong with the board (except lacking a power jack that is...). /David

If this is like the 2148 board, there is a jumper block to determine where you get power. They draw power from the USB normally. But they also allow the JLink to supply power (an option of the newer JLinks). So they really don't need the wall-wart power any longer for most applications. Take a look at your schematic - there may be other parts missing - like the 9-5V regulator. Also, be careful not to install both the +5V_USB and +5V_EXT jumpers at the same time. To do so could damage the USB port on the PC. Dan _____
