I used the tutorial from NewMicros on how to add C/C++ to Eclipse (ver
3.0).  It worked.  Something has changed over the last 6 months and now I
get this error when I try to compile:

Program engry point _impure_ptr missing from cygwin1.dll

What am I missing and how do I get it back?

Hi, Wade.

Search your hard drive for all instances of that dll, and delete or rename
all but the one in c:\cygwin\bin.

I added an 'x' to the name e.g. cygwin1.dllx on all the other ones, just in
case some other tool was affected, but haven't seen any detrimental effects
so far.

The problem is that the tools are now using the latest version of the Cygwin
DLL which has more functions than before.  If an older DLL is found first,
and it doesn't contain the required function, you get the error.

It's possible that you could copy the newest DLL to other folders that
contain the old DLL, and it might work...

Alternatively, it my be that changing the sequence of folders in your PATH
variable so that the newest DLL is first in the PATH may work.
