LPC2119/29 low cost eval board

LPC2119/29 low cost eval board

2004-04-18 by microbit

Hi all,

Anyone that can recommend a good, low cost eval board
for LPC2119/LPC2129, (or a similar 64 pin part).
I don't want to design my own HW just yet, as it requires a fair
bit of RF layout integration :-)
Ideally this board will be able to take the parts with memory protect
(when they become available).
Must have standard JTAG IDC on it.

Any ideas ?
A google brings up nothing to write home about.

Good ? I don't know, but Keil has one: http://www.keil.com/mcb2100/

Thanks Martin,

had a look, of course has the usual "get a quote" crap.
Nowadays "inexpensive" still seems to put you out by $300-$400
for something you'll only need for a bit, and then joins the endless
stack of other boards that gather dust .. :-(

Tnx for the reply.
Being Keil, I expect it to be priced ridiculously, but I'll get a quote from
disty.

Thanks Martin.

Asked in January for the price and they told me 100 Euro + Tax + Shipping.

Keil quoted me $149 USD but didn't have any in stock. They said
they're made in Europe (Germany I believe?) so they might be a bit
cheaper there.

Also, the Philips website has a decent list of eval boards--some of
which are being sold direct by Philips with prices listed and can be
ordered online.

Given all the problems I'm having with my current
Olimex/Wiggler/Rowley set up, I'm about ready to get out my credit
card for some better hardware.

Thanks, I didn't look at the Philips website, because it has/had only eval
boards that come with "eval" versions of complete tools ie. Ashling, IAR
etc.
I _just_ want a low cost board !
I will look again, maybe that's changed.

Incidentally, I am using a Nohau LPC2106 tester board which surely would
have to be designated "better" hardware.
I'm quite sure that different HW will not solve your problem.
It's a marginal timing issue in CW it seems, but where/what exactly, dunno.

I'll either buy the Keil board, or directly go to my own integrated HW as a
"proto-prototype". I have a complete RF transceiver system that mates with
the LPC2129, hence the reason why I wanted to eval first what the best
choice
is of I/O control lines for the transceiver section, rather than immediately
lay out a complex RF PCB... !

Cheers,
Kris
