IAR Kickstart and Flash Utility ISP SW controlled via RTS/DTR ?

IAR Kickstart and Flash Utility ISP SW controlled via RTS/DTR ?

2004-05-25 by johnnorgaard2003

Hi

I have a IAR Kickstart and use Philips Flash utility v. 2.2.0.

It works when I use "Manual ISP" , push ISP button when pressing and
releasing the reset button. Then I can read Device ID. OK

BUT When I use SW(PC) Controlled ISP mode with RTS and DTR, it does
NOT work.

I have read the latest Philips App. note AN10302 describing the
Kickstart board.

My Jumper settings is :
JP6 Off - no JTAG Select
JP7 On - EN_SW_IP
JP8 On - EN_SW_RST
JP4 On - EN_RX

JP5 On -
JP2 Off ISP/INT Now controlled via RTS/DTR
JP1 On

I have also tried JP1 with jumper.
I have marked " use with RTS/DTR in Flash utility meny.

But always the same result.
I click the "Read Device ID" button on the main form, push the reset
button when the "Please Reset your LPC2000 board now and then press
OK!" dialogue asks me to, and then I click OK. The utility comes
back instantly and says, "Cannot communicate with test board!"

Are there any who have tried the RTS/DTR ISP Mode ?

Best regards

John

John,
You need to have JP2 in place. The app note is not clear on this
and will be corrected, thanks for pointing it out.

Philips Apps.

Hi

Thanks now it works. Yes you where right JP2 should be On.
The Philips AN10302 is wrong on page 5.
It says jumper 2 removed...

But I had a Rs232 cable defect, one without DTR connected.

Best regards

John
