Hi folks, Could someone recommend a suitable JTAG interface to use with Rowley's (Linux) IDE please? Preferably one someone's actually used and knows works! ;-) Many thanks, Rob

Rob, > Hi folks, > > Could someone recommend a suitable JTAG interface to use with Rowley's > (Linux) IDE please? Downside is it doesn't work on some parallel ports for some reason. Upside is it's cheap, so only minor complaints if it doesn't work. We also support the Segger J-Link for ARM--but only on Windows. This has had its firmware upgraded recently and seems to work well. We have users running with this solution. Downside: Windows only. Alternatively, you could wait and take delivery of our new USB CrossConnect for ARM in a nice shiny aluminium box... No idea when it'll be available quite yet, though. And it'll work on Linux. -- Paul Curtis, Rowley Associates Ltd http://www.rowley.co.uk CrossWorks for MSP430, ARM, and (soon) Atmel AVR processors

Ah, I'd forgotten about your USB one! Think I'll get an Olimex one and upgrade to USB when you get your act together! ;-) Cheers, Rob Rob, > Hi folks, > > Could someone recommend a suitable JTAG interface to use with Rowley's > (Linux) IDE please? Groups Links Hi Robert I use CrossWorks (windows) and use Segger J-Link and Wiggler JTAG. I have problems when using Segger J-Link, it fails to stop when I have breakpoints in interrupt. Wiggler JTAG parallel port works every time, and it is from Olimex. I have talked to Rowley guys but not found any solution. So I use Wiggler JTAG. Best regards John

Have you loaded the latest firmware into the J-Link? Rolf Segger's last e-mail to me on the subject invited us to try the new software. Jon Elliott might have some more information on this subject. Regards, -- Paul.

How does one load new firmware into the J-Link? Richard, I think you download the latest DLL and give it a whirl; ask Rolf. I'm not really affiliated with the ARM produce per se. -- Paul.
