LPC213x SSP Controller

LPC213x SSP Controller

2005-01-28 by lp2000c

We recently migrated a design from LPC2124 to LPC2138. We assumed
that when they converted SPI1 to SSP, they added functionality, but
did not remove any of the existing functionality. We discovered,
that they removed the option of having it transmit LSB first.

We can work around it by reorganizing how a bunch of our data is
organized, but it's bit of a pain.

They also eliminated some of the error flags (e.g.: Mode Fault, Slave
Abort, Write Collision).

Caveat Emptor! (Or did I miss something?)

Well as far as the error flags, the FIFO will make the write collision less
likely, that flag probably just didn't make sense to keep. As far as
Master/Slave faults (which are the other two) the user manual looks rather
confused about the issue. It seems to be referring to system behaviour
rather than peripheral behaviour.
