Mark,
as I understand the technology, it is all about the process the device
is manufactured. All LPC210x are manufactured in the same process.
Also the LPC2106 is available in both packages extended temp. this
would somewhat disqualify the package to make the difference in temp
rating.
I am sure the LPC2104/2105 work at the same temperatures as the
LPC2106 BUT they are not tested for it. So, for peace of mind and in
a real commercial application I would go for the LPC2106 (or for a
member of the LPC2130 series, all -40/85) . If it for a 'fun project"
no problem using the LPC2104/2105.
