Opening up space in the "Files Section" // any objections?

Hi, there was a discussion a while ago about switching to a different, not so size constraint medium to replace the Yahoo Forum. Back then I volunteered to reduce file sizes of existing pictures or pdf documents which account for a big chunk of the used space. As an example, I reduced the file size of the DDS folder by optimizing the pdf files for size, no other change and I reduced the size of the documentation regarding the Stack issue by compressing the screen shots a little more. These two measures reduced the size of the files section by 1 MB. This is what I plan to do on top of these measures: 1. Move pictures that are stand alone in the file section to the picture section (almost 30 MB unused there!). 2. Replace documents that have been uploaded from other websites by a link to those documents, e.g. "ARM PrimeCell Vectored Interrupt Controller (PL190) Technical Reference Manual" 3. Eliminate empty folders e.g. "audio_out" All these actions have the goal to preserve the LPC2000 Forum as what it has become, a highly interactive and still very technical Forum that has so many expert users. Uploading files with example programs is essential and should be possible for everybody who can contribute. According to my estimate the files section should end up around 10 MB. If you object to these changes please let me know, you can write directly to my Yahoo e-mail, I will check it regularly for a while or if you think the Forum should know, respond here on the Forum. Cheers, Bob (at your service ;-)
