Simple I2C/SPI RTC

Simple I2C/SPI RTC

2005-07-31 by James Dabbs

I'm looking for a SPI or I2C real-time clock that only counts seconds.
Just a low-power 32-bit counter. Is there such a thing, or do they all
have year, month, day of week, etc.?

Thanks.

Not what you asked for but 1-wire device DS2415 does that ...

Look at www.farnell.com I seem to remember having found an I2C device that
did what you require (I usually use farnell to find such things because they
have a lot of crap in their inventory and its usually easier to find
something in a catalogue than searching through a billion hits on google)

Think there're several from Dallas/Maxim.. for example DS1371 & DS1374
with I2C interface.

Yes, I believe the Dallas ones are fairly popular.
