Lpc2000

Hello, 

Is there any practical difference between the 2214 and 2138 UART
implementation? I wonder if I just swap the new chip in and everything
would be ready to go.

Hi,

the SFR addresses are the same I checked that. So the UART should work
right away. There was something about hardware handshake support which
has been implemented either in the LPC2138 or LPC2148 but this is just
a superset in functionality, so nothing why the UART should not work. 

In regards to the UART (besides a very different pinout) there should
be no problems with just dropping it in. 

Could you briefly report your findings once you did it?
