I have tuned my settings so the dumped database file always is around
20 MB which to me means the database in memory is the same size as
well. Still milter-greylist just keeps growing. I restart it
automatically when it reaches 512 MB which is about weekly.

Suggestions have been made that it's Solaris libc that is at fault but
another daemon that is known on other platforms to leak memory is Clam
Antivirus and it's rock solid on the my machines, I can run it for
months with the same memory usage all the time.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
