Problems with milter-greylist and libspf

2004-09-29 by Sebastian Wiesinger

Hello,

I'm using milter-greylist with SPF-Support and have the problem that
the SPF Return Code changes sometimes to another value:

The first mail gets

milter-greylist: SPF return code 3

which is correct because I wanted to produce a "fail".

All the following (identical) mails, sent a minute later get:

milter-greylist: SPF return code 6

Which is SPF_UNKNOWN AFAIK.

This seems to be an error, or am I missing something?

Regards,

Sebastian

You are sure it can't be a DNS timeout? The mail are really identical?

Yes, but I think I already found the bug. It seems that libspf until
RC6 has this "error". Is there a bugfree spf library at all? libspf
doesn't seem to be very trustworthy... And I couldn't compile
milter-greylist against libspf2 because it only checks for libspf_alt.

Sebastian

Older libspf_alt runs fine.
Someone posted a patch to deal with libspf2, I hope I'll be able to
integrate it soon.
